What are fibroids?

Fibroids are usually non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus. They vary in size and location, and many people have no symptoms.

Possible symptoms

Heavy periods, pelvic pressure or discomfort may occur. These symptoms are not specific and cannot establish a diagnosis without an assessment.

Clinical evaluation

Medical history, symptoms and any necessary examinations guide whether observation or another form of care is appropriate.
